The Local Fare Scheme

The local Fare Scheme is an airfare that aims to improve the standard of living of local residents in regional and remote Qld communities by  making air travel to neighbouring communities affordable.

The airfare subsidy is available to local residents who have lived in their eligible community for 3 years or more. The Local Fare Scheme (LFS) administrator has advised NPARC that all intending passenger bookings must be made in person and booking staff must see the "Letter Of Eligibility" (LOE) for each passenger, together with a form of identification to get the discounted fare. Unfortunately this means that calling NPARC on the telephone to make a bookings is not possible.

Every person registered for the LFS has been given their LOE, these must be safeguarded as they are required to make a booking.

Replacement copies of LOE letters can be provided at a cost of $2.00
