April 2018 - The Jardine River Ferry is fully operational between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, 7 days with exception of some public holidays.  

The fees remain the same as 2017 UFN - click here

UFN those travelling to from NPA, please check road condtions with Road houses and local property owners prior to commencing your journey as weather events over the last few months have left some roads with significant damage and in addition some areas still have a great deal of water over causeways and road.

April 2018 - For all travellers to/from NPA Region, please be aware that fees for the Jardine Ferry are now Eftpos only and can be paid at the Jardine Service Station or Bamaga Council office. The Bamaga office can also take the payment for the fee in person or over the phone. Please call 0740904120.

Public Warning

November - April  It is a reminder that from November through to March each year, it is Crocodile mating season. It is also the time for hatching of the Croc eggs so nests are found in the vegetation at the tops of the beaches and rivers. Crocs are regularly seen moving from the water up to the vegetation to protect the nests.

All Crocs are more active and aggressive during this time.

FOR THE SAFETY OF ALL, PLEASE DO NOT SWIM, FISH OR WALK ON THE BEACHES OR RIVER EDGES DURING THIS TIME.

 Sunday 4 March 2018

Residents of the Northern Peninsula Area (NPA) were overwhelmed and privileged to host the Queens Baton Relay (QBR) with in the five communities of Injinoo, Umagico, Bamaga, New Mapoon and Seisia. NPA was proud to have the Queens Baton on its 2nd day of arrival into Queensland. It was its 69th day of travelling around the 52 Commonwealth countries.
